Job Description:
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Dog Bather to join our team. As a Dog Bather, you are the foundation of our grooming process. You will be responsible for prepping our canine clients for their haircuts, ensuring they are sparkling clean, thoroughly dried, and comfortable throughout their visit.
No prior professional experience? No problem! We are willing to train the right candidate who has a genuine love for dogs and a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bathing & Drying: Wash dogs thoroughly using specific shampoos/conditioners according to their skin and coat needs. Express anal glands (if required/trained) and blow-dry coats safely.
- Prep Work: Perform basic grooming prep, including brushing out mats.
- Dog Handling: Safely lift, handle, and restrain dogs of all sizes and temperaments using low-stress handling techniques.
- Salon Upkeep: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized work station. Clean tubs, sweep hair.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with groomers and reception staff to keep the daily schedule running smoothly.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- A True Dog Lover: A natural comfort around animals and a patient, gentle demeanor.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, bend, lift up to [e.g., 50 lbs] unassisted, and handle wet, wiggly dogs.
- Team Player: A reliable, positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take direction.
- Availability: Flexible schedule, including weekends [adjust as needed].
- Preferred but not required: Previous experience in a kennel, vet clinic.
