CI and Test Automation Engineer

## About this opportunity

We are seeking a CI & Test Automation Engineer for Ericsson Cloud Execution Environment (CEE) to join our team in developing Ericsson’s OpenStack and OPNFV-based virtual infrastructure manager (VIM). Our product is the virtualisation, control, and management layer of both the NFVi and CNIS solutions.

In this role, you will contribute to continuous integration, test automation and quality engineering initiatives to improve software delivery efficiency, product reliability, and automated functional test coverage. You will contribute to building a modern automation ecosystem that enables rapid feedback and high-quality releases.

You will design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated test solutions that enable efficient verification of product functionality throughout the software development lifecycle.

## What you will do

• Take part in the full verification cycle from design through development, tools integration, verification, and deployment.
• Develop, maintain, and optimise CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and on-time delivery.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated functional and regression test suites.
• Increase automated functional test coverage across product features and releases.
• Integrate automated test execution and reporting into CI workflows to provide rapid feedback to development teams.
• Analyse build and test results, troubleshoot failures, and drive continuous improvements in quality and automation efficiency.
• Continuously improve our CI and processes.
• Constantly develop your competencies.

## You will bring

• Experience with Linux system administration, programming and shell scripting (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Hands-on mentality and flexibility to perform tasks in a DevOps environment.
• Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., git/gerrit, Jenkins)
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and test automation development.
• Good understanding of software verification, quality engineering, and test coverage methodologies.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for investigating build, integration, and test failures.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

• Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
• Configuration management (e.g., Ansible)
• Development & Integration tools (e.g., Git, Gerrit, gitLab)
• IP networking concepts
• Virtualization (e.g., QEMU, libvirt)
• Cloud technologies (e.g., OpenStack, Docker, Kolla, Kubernetes)
• Test automation frameworks such as Robot Framework, Tempest, PyTest, Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright
• API testing and automation
• Container-based test environments and automated verification solutions
• Quality metrics, test reporting, and test coverage analysis
• Writing test cases using AI, creating personas, working with AI agents
