Work Location: Remote or On-Site, United States
Hourly Compensation: $16
This position is bonus eligible
Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm (CST)
JOB SUMMARY
The Revenue Cycle Medical - Payor Verification Government Payors representative works with payor portals and payors via telephone to verify benefits, deductibles, and out-of-pocket amounts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
- Solve problems, research, and coordinate benefit issues.
- Work as team member to meet team and departmental goals and deadlines.
- Utilize payor portals and telephone for benefit verification.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Analyze work processes to maximize efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year of medical billing experience including payor verification and/or communicating with payors directly
- Experience of computers and related technology, at an intermediate level
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 including Excel and Word
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to make timely decisions
- Ability to work independently with little or no direction and as an active member of the
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year working in a call center environment
- Minimum of one (1) year working in a customer service position.
- Above average knowledge of government insurance billing guidelines and policies
- Experience with payer portals and online eligibility inquiries
Preferred Education:
- High school diploma
- GED
- Or significant, relevant work experience
