The Intermediate GIS Analyst focuses on GIS analysis, manages incoming and outgoing data, creates high quality map products and identifies mapping requirements for internal and external parties.
What You'll Do
- Develop high quality custom maps and reports.
- Convert data and conduct GIS analysis.
- Create, edit and manage data for a variety of projects.
- Perform data analysis and spatial queries.
- Design and conduct Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures on mapping and data products.
- Conduct evaluations of cartographic and GIS principles.
- Address and resolve issues relating to project and/or data.
- Liaise with Canacre Field Team on related projects.
- Set up internal GIS system including field data collection capabilities and in-house data management systems.
- Provide drawings, data and geographic information for various environmental projects and reports.
- Create, analyse and maintain vector, raster and tabular data and databases.
- Liaise with Canacre departments to deliver quality service.
- Perform other duties as required.
What You'll Bring
- Post secondary degree in GIS, Cartography, Geography, or related field of study, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 to 7 years professional experience in GIS.
- Educational or Professional experience with ESRI ArcGIS and its extensions.
- Basic understanding of SQL Server/Enterprise Database knowledge.
- Professional experience with Experience Builder, Story Maps, Hub Sites, Field Maps, Survey 123 and other advanced Esri software is considered an asset.
- Digitizing, editing, and performing queries in ArcGIS Desktop/Pro, and relational databases.
- Online tool development in the Esri suite of products (Portal and ArcGIS Online), including Experience Builder, Field Maps and Survey123.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
- Python, SQL and Esri Arcade language.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A keen attention to detail.
- An understanding of the importance of projections, coordinate systems and datums.
