Description
Amentum is seeking a UXO Technician III to join our team in Hawthorne, Nevada to support the Hawthorne Army Depot. The UXO Technician III will perform on-site demilitarization of Munitions and Explosives of Concern to support operations.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform the duties of a UXO Technician III as outlined in current version of DDESB TP-18.
Perform on-site demilitarization of MEC (Munitions and Explosives of Concern), and handling of demolition materials.
Prepare explosives storage plan per all applicable guidance.
Prepare required UXO munitions response actions and/or range maintenance administrative reports.
Prepare standard operating procedures for on-site munitions responses and/or for range clearance activities.
Assist in the preparation of risk and hazards analysis.
Conduct daily site safety briefings.
Supervise the conduct of all on-site UXO-related operations.
Inspect and certify and/or verify MPPEH, (Material Potentially Presenting an Explosive Hazard) as safe or as to the explosive hazard it may present for transfer within the Department of Defense or release from DoD control per current policies and standards.
Able to fully perform all UXOSP and for UXOTI and UXOTII functions.
Perform risk-hazard analysis, maintenance and operator checks on all team equipment.
Assist in performing reconnaissance and classification of UXO identification of US and foreign guided missiles, bombs and bomb fuses, grenades and grenade fuses, rockets and rocket fuses, land mines and associated components.
Locate subsurface UXO using military and/or civilian magnetometers.
Direct operator maintenance of military and/or civilian magnetometers.
Locate surface UXO using visual means and assist in transporting and storing UXO.
Responsible for demolition of materials, preparing non-electric firing system for al UXO disposal operation, preparing electric firing system for an UXO disposal operation and disposing of ammunition/explosives by burning.
Dispose of ammunition/explosives by assisting in the operation of personnel decontamination station.
Assist in the inspection of salvage UXO-related material and erection of UXO-related protective works.
Transfer munitions from munitions service magazine to Enhanced Reconfiguration Building feed area.
Provide support labor for palletizing, packaging and shipping of munitions bodies and inert and energetic parts.
Performs a combination of project coordination duties by providing technical expertise relevant to munitions demilitarization and storage problems.
Maintains records, compliance documents, and will draft, review, finalize and submit project status reports.
Completes all accountability and historical documentation actions in a timely manner.
Advises managers and supervisors of any potential problem.
Will provide input for official reports, and inspections.
Ensures compliance with Company, safety, government and environmental guidelines and regulations pertaining to the responsibilities of this position.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) or qualified Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) school graduate and have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in military EOD and/or commercial UXO operations.
Have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must meet the requirements for the UXO Technician III level as provided in accordance with DDESB TP-18.
Completed 200 hours of training on MEC (Munitions and Explosives of Concern), and MPPEH (Material Potentially Presenting an Explosive Hazard).
Must have 40 hours of Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of government security clearance well as a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.
Must be be able to communicate in an effective and professional manner, in English, using all std. forms of business communication. Must possess sufficinet computer hardware and software proficinecy to be able to perform all job duties in a timely, professional and effective manner.
Must be able to obtain and maintain all certificates as required by Amentum’s Master Training Plan.
Strong time and project management skills, project prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
Strong collaboration and team building skills; ability to provide clear objectives, motivate, establish metrics/goals and monitor progress.
Must be computer literate at the intermediate and/or advanced user level in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment.
Must be willing and able to be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record. Must be willing to work overtime.
Must be willing and able to wear various levels of personal protective equipment.
Must have knowledge or proficiency in all tasks in accountability.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and pass a driving record (MVR) check.
Must be able to obtain and maintain Hawthorne Army Depot (HWAD) site access. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain access.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
SECURITY CLEARANCE
This position is designated as a safety sensitive position and is subject to the requirements of the HWAD Medical Surveillance Plan and Matrix and the HWAD A&D Program. As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, drug testing, medical exam, and respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by 29 CFR and Army Regulations: AR 190-11, AR 190-13 and DOD Contractors Safety Manual 4145.26.

Compensation Details:
$48.19
