Job Description Summary
The Genetic Program Assistant for the Division of Medical Genetics and Genomics plays a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered genetic services for individuals and families undergoing genetic evaluation, management and treatment. This position works closely with medical geneticists, genetic counselors, genetic assistants, clinic staff and multidisciplinary care teams to coordinate clinical services, facilitate patient care navigation, and support access to specialized genetics resources, including existing treatments, early access programs and clinical trials.Entity

Job Description
In addition to coordinating patient care activities, the Genetic Program Assistant supports the design, implementation, and ongoing administration of genetic clinic programs and initiatives. The role assists with program planning, documentation of processes and procedures, coordination of daily operational activities, and monitoring of program performance metrics. The Genetic Program Assistant also supports leadership through special projects, reporting, and program development efforts.
This position provides day-to-day supervision and workflow oversight for the Genetic Assistant(s), ensuring high-quality support in case preparation, documentation, and patient communication. Through strong communication, organization, leadership, and collaboration, the Genetic Program Assistant helps ensure efficient clinic operations and a supportive, seamless care experience for patients and families.
Additional Job Description
Education and Experience: Bachelors Degree and 2 years work experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 5 years experience required.
