The Senior Director, Total Rewards leads Nordic’s global compensation, benefits, wellness, retirement, and recognition programs, ensuring they are competitive, compliant, fiscally responsible, and aligned to business and talent priorities. This role partners with executive leadership, HR, Finance, Legal, and business leaders to strengthen attraction, retention, engagement, and the overall employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a Total Rewards strategy aligned with Nordic’s business objectives, growth plans, talent strategy, and employee value proposition.
- Lead the design, governance, administration, compliance, and continuous improvement of compensation, benefits, wellness, retirement, recognition, and rewards programs.
- Oversee base pay, incentive plans, commissions, spot awards, executive compensation support, annual compensation planning, market adjustments, job architecture, salary structures, and career framework initiatives.
- Manage benefits strategy, renewals, vendor selection, contract negotiations, plan design reviews, employee education, escalations, administration, and vendor performance.
- Partner with executive leadership, HR, Talent Acquisition, Finance, Legal, Compliance, brokers, consultants, and business leaders on strategic initiatives, workforce planning, organizational changes, and M&A activity.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and international compensation and benefits regulations, including pay transparency, wage and hour, equal pay, healthcare, retirement, and leave requirements.
- Establish metrics, dashboards, reporting, internal controls, audit readiness, policies, procedures, and documentation to assess program effectiveness, competitiveness, risk, and financial impact.
- Analyze market, utilization, benchmarking, trend, budget, and vendor data to identify opportunities for cost management, process improvement, and enhanced employee experience.
- Lead and develop the Total Rewards team through coaching, performance management, career development, and effective prioritization.
- Support organizational growth, including acquisitions, integrations, international expansion, workforce transformation, and Total Rewards programs in new markets.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required.
- Master's degree, MBA, CCP, CEBS, CBP, or related certifications preferred.
- 12+ years of progressive Total Rewards experience, including both compensation and benefits leadership responsibilities.
- 7+ years of people leadership experience, including leading high-performing teams.
- Strong expertise in compensation design, benefits administration, market pricing, job architecture, and incentive programs.
- Demonstrated experience managing benefit vendors, brokers, consultants, and contract negotiations.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, local, and global compensation and benefits regulations.
- Advanced analytical, financial, and business acumen with experience translating data into actionable recommendations.
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Strong project management and change management capabilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, integrations, and organizational change initiatives preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms and reporting tools (Workday experience preferred).
- Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and sound judgment.

Additional Details
- Remote position.
- Occasional travel to Nordic offices and company events as needed.
- Travel up to 10%.
- This role supports employees and leaders across multiple geographies and time zones and may require occasional meetings outside normal business hours.
