Portland, OR | BMW | Luxury performance brand | Flat-rate | European technician | ASE certified | Luxury brand welcome | Veterans encouraged to apply | $27 - $45/hr flat rate DOE
Swickard Auto Group is a hospitality company that happens to sell and service cars. We believe the best guest experiences start with the best employee experiences. That's why we've grown to 40+ rooftops across the West Coast, Alaska, and Hawaii while maintaining a culture built on one simple idea: do right by people, every time.
BMW of Portland is part of Swickard's growing Pacific Northwest portfolio -- a performance luxury brand with a passionate guest base and a service department built on technical excellence. Our guests trust us with some of the most driver-focused vehicles on the road, and the technicians who earn that trust bring the skills, the standard, and the craft to back it up.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Diagnose and repair BMW vehicles across a full range of systems -- engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, suspension, HVAC, and beyond -- using BMW diagnostic platforms and OEM procedures
• Perform multi-point inspections and develop accurate repair plans -- communicating findings clearly to service advisors to support guest authorization
• Execute repairs to BMW factory specifications with speed, accuracy, and zero shortcuts
• Complete repair orders accurately -- documenting all work performed, parts used, and labor with precision
• Stay current on BMW technical service bulletins, software updates, and evolving repair procedures
• Perform test drives to validate diagnostic conclusions and confirm repair quality before vehicle return
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation that reflects the standard of the BMW brand
• Contribute to a shop culture where quality, accountability, and craftsmanship are the baseline
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• 2+ years of dealership technician experience -- BMW or European luxury brand experience strongly preferred
• Technicians from Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volvo, Land Rover, Lexus, or similar luxury backgrounds are encouraged to apply -- your diagnostic foundation transfers
• Strong diagnostic depth -- comfortable working through complex, multi-system problems methodically and accurately
• BMW ISTA or equivalent European diagnostic platform experience preferred
• ASE certifications a strong plus -- BMW factory certifications highly valued
• Low comeback rate and a personal standard for quality that doesn't require managing
• Physically capable of performing the demands of the role -- lifting, bending, and standing throughout the shift
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• A craftsmanship mindset -- you take pride in every repair that leaves your bay
WHAT WE OFFER
• $27 - $45/hr flat rate -- rate based on experience, certifications, and diagnostic capability
• Progressive pay plan -- BMW factory certifications and tenure increase your rate over time
• Paid BMW manufacturer training and certification support
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance
• Life insurance and supplemental coverage options
• Paid time off and paid holidays
• State-of-the-art facility with current BMW diagnostic tools and technology
• Clear career path -- strong technicians grow into senior tech, shop foreman, and service management roles at Swickard
• Employee vehicle purchase and service discounts
