Description
The Oshkosh Corporation Vocational segment leverages the power of our people, brands, and strength in technology to improve the safety, cleanliness, and productivity of our communities. The Vocational segment includes market leading brands McNeilus, Oshkosh S-Series, IMT, Pierce, MAXIMETAL, Oshkosh Airport Products, and Frontline Communications. Our purpose-built products serve our communities with carefully designed and engineered refuse trucks, front-discharge mixer trucks, fire apparatus, Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting trucks, service vehicles, and command trucks. Our products are designed to perform under the toughest conditions.
SUMMARY
Assist and support the Operations department within Oshkosh Vocational Tennessee. Develop process improvements within Manufacturing. Participate in daily production meetings. Work with other Supervisors to resolve assigned tasks.
YOUR IMPACT
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned:
Assist in the direct activities of production management personnel.
Work with the Operations department to introduce, promote, and implement lean manufacturing techniques to reduce cost and improve efficiency.
Promote growth of ISO procedures and standards.
Utilize value stream mapping to analyze and improve material flow and eliminate waste.
Assist in the assurance of quality and accuracy of customer order fulfillment.
Assist in the continuous improvement techniques including Continuous Improvement events and 5S.
Assist in leadership assignment and duties according to supervisor’s needs.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Operations/Manufacturing Management, Business, Engineering, or related field for entire duration of internship.
Graduation date of December 2027 or later
Willing to travel or relocate to Murfreesboro, TN for the Summer of 2027 (relocation assistance provided for those with a permanent address of greater than 50 miles from Murfreesboro, TN).
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS
GPA of 3.0 or greater
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
