Assistant Program Manager - Residence

Description

 This position will support the Residence Program Manager in supervising staff and coordinating client care within the residential program, maintaining a safe environment where clients can achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. This role upholds Faison’s quality and regulatory standards, consistent with The Faison Center mission of giving individuals with autism and related challenges the best opportunity to improve their lives through evidence-based practice. 

Requirements

Supervision & Performance Management

• Provide leadership, coaching, and oversight to residential staff, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and excellence.
• Communicate clear performance expectations and provide timely, constructive feedback to support staff development.
• Address and document performance concerns promptly and professionally.
• Ensure consistent implementation of Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and evidence-based treatment strategies.
• Coordinate staff scheduling and monitor compliance with documentation requirements and deadlines.
• Promote a safe and supportive work environment by identifying, communicating, and addressing safety concerns.
• Oversee the responsible use and maintenance of program resources, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain all required certifications, training, and credentials in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.

Case Management

• Coordinate and oversee services to support individuals in achieving their goals and ISP outcomes.
• Develop and manage client support schedules, adjusting supports based on data and individual needs.
• Ensure the health, safety, rights, and well-being of individuals served.
• Oversee medication administration and maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor client records and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and audit readiness.
• Support admissions, intake processes, and access to appropriate resources and services.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and organizational standards.
• Implement emergency procedures and serve as a program liaison during audits and regulatory reviews, as assigned.

Essential Personnel / On-Call Requirements

• Ensure implementation of policies/procedures in unplanned and emergency situations as the designated on-call supervisor, carrying an assigned communication device and using sound judgment to make decisions
• On-call coverage means being available at all times by phone for clients and, in rare instances, being able to be on-site at the Residence if needed
• In the event of a weather emergency, staff who are scheduled to work are required to report to work

Education and Experience

• High school degree or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• One to two years of prior experience in a position of similar scope, preferred
• Ability to supervise and motivate a team of staff
• Ability to communicate through verbal and written mediums
• Ability to observe, ask questions, listen actively, and give and accept feedback effectively
• A high energy level, adaptability, assertiveness, patience, and ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to model professional behavior
• Ability to participate in and complete assigned trainings and implement procedures as outlined   in training materials; complete all assignments related to mandatory trainings
• Operation of a motor vehicle is required, which includes proof of a valid driver's license, an ability to maintain automobile liability insurance as required by state law in Virginia, and an ability to qualify as a driver under Faison insurance guidelines

• Move quickly in both confined and open spaces to avoid safety issues
• Run in order to retrieve an individual who is moving quickly away from staff
• Maintain balance while lowering to a half squat position
