Travel Specialist

Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Travel Specialist to support emergency response operations at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This position will provide travel-related coordination and administrative support associated with emergency response duty officer activities and CDC mission requirements. The Travel Specialist will help ensure travel needs are coordinated efficiently in support of emergency response operations.

 

This is a 100% in-person position and requires on-site support at CDC facilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide travel coordination support for response field deployment travelers.
• Update and track deployment travel activities in the CDCReady platform, which supports the deployment process.
• Assist with travel for field deployments, for domestic or international, emergency response efforts using the CDC travel system, or other official CDC systems, as needed.
• Provide logistical support to deployed personnel to include travel arrangements, equipment, assets, and materials used during public health emergency response operations.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
• Experience with HHS Travel System (CONCUR) required. Emergency management staffing and or deployment experience preferred.
• Expertise in the use of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook Mail).
• Ability to effectively communicate needs at all briefings to assist with operational strategy.
• Ability to identify gaps in existing resources.
• Ability to multitask in emergency situations.
• Ability to be flexible with a strong sense of urgency.
• Interpersonal communication: telephone, email, and business etiquette.
• Strong proofreading skill and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills
