Job Summary**
The Quality Technician III at Jabil, Inc. plays a crucial role in ensuring product quality and process compliance through advanced inspection, testing, and problem-solving activities. This position supports manufacturing operations by implementing and maintaining quality standards, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and acting as a technical resource for quality-related issues.
Job Responsibilities**
* Perform complex inspections and tests on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products using various measurement tools and techniques (e.g., CMM, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers, gauges).
* Interpret and apply engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards (e.g., ISO, IPC) to assess product conformity.
* Identify, document, and investigate non-conforming materials or products, initiating corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as necessary.
* Conduct root cause analysis for quality defects and implement effective solutions to prevent recurrence.
* Participate in the development and validation of new inspection methods, test procedures, and quality control plans.
* Collect, analyze, and present quality data, including statistical process control (SPC) charting and trend analysis, to identify areas for improvement.
* Train and mentor junior quality technicians on inspection techniques, quality procedures, and problem-solving methodologies.
* Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and optimize manufacturing processes.
* Assist in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality management systems.
* Maintain accurate and organized quality records, documentation, and databases.
* Contribute to continuous improvement projects, including lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives.
Job Qualifications**
* Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., Quality Assurance, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing) or equivalent practical experience.
* 5+ years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in electronics, medical devices, or a similar regulated industry.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
* Expertise in using a wide range of inspection and measurement equipment, including CMM operation and programming.
* Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485) and regulatory requirements.
* Demonstrated experience with root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams) and corrective action implementation.
* Proficient in statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and quality management software.
