Location: Butler, PA
Cleveland-Cliffs, Butler Works has an immediate need for an Operations Shift Manager at our Steelmaking department. The Shift Manager is responsible for managing a union workforce and processing steel through the unit.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Supervision and providing work direction to hourly bargaining unit employees.
- Control shop timing, including making sure each steel heat meets its destination on time.
- Assisting in the development, review, and update of Job Safety and Health Analysis and Quality Standard Operating Procedures for the department.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous supervisory experience in an industrial or related environment.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- Direct experience with steelmaking, melting, refining or casting steel.
- Supervisory experience in a union environment.
