Health Care Assistant (HCA) – British Columbia

Mimak Care is seeking qualified and compassionate Health Care Assistants (HCAs) for assignments across British Columbia, including long-term care and assisted living facilities.

Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Current registration in good standing with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry
• Recognized Health Care Assistant / Care Aide certificate
• Valid CPR/First Aid certification, as required
• Valid criminal record check, including vulnerable sector clearance ( within 6 months) 
• TB screening and immunization records (MMR)
• Ability to safely assist residents with personal care, mobility, transfers, and activities of daily living
• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work within the HCA scope of practice and follow the direction of regulated healthcare professionals
• Safe resident handling and transfer training
• Dementia and responsive behaviour training

All successful candidates must maintain valid credentials and comply with Mimak Care policies, facility requirements, confidentiality obligations, workplace safety standards, and applicable BC legislation. Additional documentation or training may be required depending on the assignment.
