Job Summary

Summary

Responsible for ensuring that all medications and supplies used or dispensed by the pharmacy are properly purchased, stocked, and stored.

Essential Functions

- Manage Pharmacy Purchasing activities, including workflow monitoring, Purchase Orders, order acknowledgments, order expediting, phone orders, and order processing, in a timely and accurate manner.
-Utilize the prime vendor’s ordering system and consistently prepare orders through their web portal to secure the best possible pricing.
-Analyzes the drug recall process and communicates the recall to the Supply Chain Manager.
-Place orders, close purchase orders, open POS when shipments are delayed or received impartially; monitor, turn, and adjust par levels to maximize freshness while minimizing out-of-stocks.
-Recognizes, communicates, and escalates supply chain and inventory management, critical path, and/or timeline concerns in a timely manner.
-Manage the patient-specific ordering and tracking process for ultra-high-cost pharmaceuticals.
-Coordinates transportation, shopping, and warehousing activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
-Coordinate and return products to stock, receipt, and delivery, as applicable.
-Ensure compliance with all ordering and receiving regulations.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Pharmacy Technician [State License] - Generic - HR Only required Pharmacy Technician Certification [CPhT] - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required

Experience
Pharmacy Supply Chain Experience 3-5 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Understanding of policies and procedures related to procurement activity.
- Understanding of sound business practices and principles.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and professional interactive skills.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from suppliers, customers, management, and interdepartmental staff.
- Portray a professional demeanor with procurement team members, customers, and vendors alike.
- Works under constant time deadlines.
- Occasionally exposed to infectious disease and to possible carcinogenic, mutagenic, and sensitizing medications.
