Job Description Summary

               

As a Sanitation II, you will be responsible for a wide variety of jobs including washing, cleaning and helping us maintain high food safety standards. This position requires long periods of standing, and repetitive use of hand/arms to use cleaning tools and supplies. Job tasks may occur in any area of the plant, require good physical stamina, and are labor intensive in an often fast-paced work environment. The sanitation team is essential in assisting the business achieve its production goals.

Job Description

The Sanitation II role supports a safe, clean, and efficient food manufacturing environment by performing sanitation and cleaning activities throughout the facility. This position is responsible for maintaining sanitation standards, following food safety requirements, using cleaning equipment and chemicals safely, and completing required documentation. The role works closely with production and sanitation leadership to ensure product quality, workplace safety, and operational readiness.

Job Responsibilities

• Follow and promote safe work practices at all times.
• Perform sanitation duties in assigned areas using designated cleaning equipment, sanitation supplies, and high-pressure water hoses.
• Complete cleaning and sanitation activities during plant cleanup at the start and end of production runs.
• Participate in and successfully complete all required company training programs.
• Operate and locate required safety equipment, systems, and emergency stations.
• Properly use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Safely handle and use sanitation chemicals in accordance with established procedures.
• Report mechanical or electrical issues promptly to production leadership and maintenance personnel.
• Complete, maintain, and sign all required documentation and verification records.
• Inspect work areas for foreign materials and immediately report any glass or metal contamination to production leadership.
• Communicate effectively with sanitation and production leaders regarding sanitation activities and concerns.
• Collaborate with team members across the organization to support operational success and achieve shared goals.
• Support sanitation programs and standards through consistent execution of assigned tasks.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by production leadership.

Work Schedule

• Full-time, hourly position.
• Rotating 12-hour shifts (7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. / 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.).
• Average of 42 hours per week.
• Required availability for nights, weekends, and statutory holidays.

• Must possess valid Canadian work authorization.
• High school education or equivalency.
• Minimum of one-month related work experience or training
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment is an asset
• Classifications, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
• Must obtain and maintain WHMIS Certification. This certification and training will be provided by the company.
