About this role

Join Emplify Health by Gundersen Hillsboro as an RN on the Med/Surg Unit and provide compassionate, high-quality care to patients and families. In this role, you will assess, plan, intervene, document, and evaluate care while working closely with patients, families, and the care team. Your work supports our mission of empathy amplified by delivering safe, patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Key responsibilities

• Systematically and holistically assess patients’ physiological, emotional, sociocultural, spiritual, and financial status.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and health care professionals to develop patient-centered plans of care.
• Provide competent and innovative patient care and education based on patient complexity, acuity, and nursing judgment.
• Document nursing assessment, planning, interventions, implementation, and patient or family response.
• Evaluate patient progress and revise the plan of care as needed.
• Participate in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, research, shared governance, department projects, and continual learning.
• Accept accountability, seek feedback, clarify concerns, and work toward resolving problems or conflicts.
• Practice in alignment with the Gundersen Health System mission, values, strategic plan, and Nursing Professional Framework.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a rapidly changing environment.
• Support education of nursing colleagues and students.
• Personally interact with, engage with, and care for patients.
• Ensure patient safety.

What you will need

• Associate degree in Nursing, required.
• No experience required
• 6 months or more of previous nursing experience, preferred.
• Valid Registered Nurse license for State of Wisconsin, required.
• Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification required from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Ability to obtain ACLS within 6 months of hire.
