Currently, we have an opening for a Lead Hand at our facility in Saskatoon. In this role, you will oversee a team of production workers and technicians, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Acting as a key link between management and the workforce, you will provide leadership, training, support, and hands-on assistance while driving operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

What you will be doing:

• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to production workers and technicians on the day shift.
• Ensure all work is performed to high-quality standards and complies with specifications and customer requirements
• Conduct inspections and quality checks, addressing defects and issues promptly.
•  Implement and support quality control measures to improve work processes and outcomes.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels and material availability.
•  Ensure team members have the tools, equipment, and resources required to complete assigned tasks.
• Coordinate the procurement and distribution of materials as needed.
• Optimize workflow and work processes to maximize efficiency and productivity.
•  Assist with scheduling, resource allocation, and workload planning to meet operational goals
•  Monitor and report on team productivity and output.
• Maintain accurate records of work progress, materials used, attendance, performance, and incidents.
• Prepare reports and updates for management as required.
• Act as a liaison between employees and management, communicating goals, expectations, and project updates.
• Report project progress, challenges, and deviations from plans to supervisors.
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure all team members comply with company and regulatory safety requirements.
• Recognize unsafe acts and conditions, take corrective action, and promote a safe and healthy work environment.
• Report and address safety violations, incidents, and near misses promptly.
• Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with Company Values, Policies, and Procedures.
• Communicate professionally and courteously with co-workers, management, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Address customer inquiries, concerns, and requests in a professional and timely manner.
• Operate tools and machinery safely, efficiently, and productively while maintaining quality standards. Perform modifications to enhance operational performance and improve safety.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
•  Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs.

What you will bring along:

• Knowledge and understanding of our products, processes, and operations.
• Ability to identify maintenance, production, and workflow requirements within an assigned area or facility.
•  Experience leading or coordinating teams in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
•  Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multifunctional self-managed work group.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
•  Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

• Participate in all required safety training and maintain compliance with applicable regulations.
•  Wear and maintain all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
