Job Summary Utility Operator III

As a Utility Operator III, you will play a key role in supporting production operations, ensuring that parts are fabricated to meet work order specifications and customer requirements. This includes operating and setting up various CNC and non-CNC production machinery, conducting manual assembly tasks, and adhering to safety and quality standards. 

Key Responsibilities Utility Operator III

• Proficient in setting up and operating a variety of production machines such as lathes, mills, saws, and slitters.
• Perform manual assembly and fabrication tasks using hand tools and machines, as necessary.
• Inspect products to ensure they meet company quality, quantity, and customer standards.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following all safety protocols. 
• Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on production machinery as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals.
• Mentor and train team members. 

Requirements

Required:

• Previous related manufacturing experience.
• High School Diploma or GED with prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience. 
• Experience with (insert the department and/or type(s) of machines) or similar equipment. 
• Must have strong math skills, blueprint reading and measuring tool experience (tape measures, calipers, micrometers, etc.).
• Experience programming or at minimum, the ability to apply minor adjustments to programs as needed during operating machines. (CNC Routers, CNC mills, CNC lathes, CNC Cutters - Master Cam, CAD)
• Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings. 
• Knowledge of GD&T. 
• Flexibility to work overtime and adjust to emergency production needs.

Preferred:

• Have participated in Quality problem solving activities (Root Cause Analysis tools). 
• Technical degree in machining (AAS Machining, …).
• 2-4 years of previous manufacturing experience. 

Work Environment Utility Operator III

• This role is performed in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and chemicals.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
• The position may involve repetitive tasks and manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform manual tasks as required.
