Intern - Project Engineer

At JTM Construction, the role of the Project Engineer Intern is to provide critical support to both the Project Manager 

and Superintendent on complex commercial construction projects. Project Engineer Interns can be involved in any of 

the phases of the project from estimation through project closeout.     

The Project Engineer Intern must be able to work closely with others in a team environment. The individual must be 

professional and self-motivated with strong oral and written communication skills, dependable, able to multi-task in a 

fast-paced environment with strong organizational and problem-solving skills. This position requires travel in the 

greater Seattle area, depending on project assignments.

$31.00 an hour.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare Quantity Take-Offs and Provide Estimate Support 
• Manage Project Submittal and Material Delivery Schedules  
• Review Shop Drawings and Material Submittals in Correlation to the Design Requirements  
• Prepare and Document Accurate Meeting Minutes 
• Update and Maintain Project Record Documents, Specifications, and Logs 
• Assemble Project Closeout Documentation   
• Request, Review, and Collate Subcontractor/Trade Partner Pricing  
• Draft and Review Project RFI’s for Submission to the Design Team 
• Take and Manage Progress Photos 
• Manage Subcontractor/Trade Partner Scopes of Work as Assigned  
• Participate in Overall Project Safety 

Requirements

SKILLS

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering, 
• Architecture, Finance, or Business Administration 
• Minimum of One (1) Year of Experience Working for a Commercial General Contractor 
• Ability to Work with Microsoft Office Suite 
• Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills 
• Creativity and the Ability to Innovate 
• Positive Attitude and Willingness to Learn  
• Leadership Skills with a Willingness to Lead by Example  
• Valid Washington State Driver’s License with the Ability to Provide Proof of a Clean Driving Record 
• Able to Pass a Pre-employment Drug Screening and a Criminal Background Check
