Operations Manager

Description

MM Solutions is looking for an Operations Manager who enjoys being close to the work, developing strong leaders, and creating the structure that helps a manufacturing team perform at its best.

This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-moving manufacturing environment supporting aerospace, defense, medical, and high-tech customers. You will lead daily operations while helping shape how the operation grow, strengthening communication across teams, developing leaders, improving processes, and refining the systems that support safe, consistent, high-quality performance.

You'll spend time on the production floor, work closely with department leaders, and use data to understand where the operation is succeeding and where it can improve. You'll also have the opportunity to turn that insight into action: clearing roadblocks, strengthening standard work, developing people, and helping teams become increasingly confident and capable in their own decision-making.  The goal is an operation where expectations are clear, leaders are equipped to lead, problems are addressed at the source, and great performance can be repeated.

What You'll Own

You will lead day-to-day manufacturing performance while building the systems and leadership capability needed for long-term growth.You'll also work across engineering, sales, scheduling, project/customer service, quality, safety, and supply partners to manage staffing, materials, equipment, priorities, and production constraints.

That means coaching department leaders, setting clear priorities, creating accountability, and establishing a consistent daily and weekly operating rhythm. You'll use production data and visual metrics to identify problems, make better decisions, and help leaders understand not just what needs to improve, but why.

When something goes wrong, you'll help the team contain the immediate issue, find the root cause, and put changes in place so the same problem doesn't become tomorrow's problem too.  Lean manufacturing should be something you know how to apply and teach, not simply terminology on your résumé. You should also be comfortable using data to challenge assumptions, identify trends, and turn recurring problems into sustainable improvements.

Compensation range for this role is  $95,000–$120,000 annually, DOE.

• Are technically comfortable interpreting drawings and work instructions and can have credible conversations with engineering and production teams.
• Bring structure to a fast-moving environment without adding unnecessary bureaucracy.
• Stay calm when priorities collide and distinguish the truly urgent from the merely loud.
• Believe strong operations leaders build capable teams that can solve tough problems without depending on one person for every answer.

A Few Important Details

We prefer a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field and approximately 8–10 years of manufacturing or production experience. An advanced degree is a plus, but demonstrated operational leadership and the ability to develop people matter greatly in this role. 

This is an onsite manufacturing leadership position and requires regular presence in the operation. The role includes substantial standing and walking and occasional lifting over 45 pounds. 

Because this position will have access to information and items controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the person hired must qualify as a U.S. person as defined by ITAR.
