Account Manager I, Captives

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Captives team at Marsh as an Account Manager I. This role will support a portfolio of captive insurance company clients by managing day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and client service activities.

The Account Manager I will work closely with clients, service providers, internal stakeholders, and colleagues to deliver accurate financial information, support effective governance, and help ensure client activities follow applicable regulations, best practices, and Marsh’s internal controls.

We will count on you to:

  • Manage a portfolio of captive insurance clients and oversee their day-to-day accounting activities.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, supplemental reports, regulatory filings, and other client deliverables.
  • Reconcile cash and investment accounts and support related banking activities.
  • Coordinate annual audits and assist with GAAP financial reporting.
  • Help clients understand and address accounting, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain organized client files and ensure compliance with Marsh and client-specific internal controls.
  • Build strong client relationships through clear communication, proactive problem-solving, and timely follow-up.
  • Coordinate with service providers, including actuaries, auditors, and claims handlers.
  • Prepare materials for board, committee, and client meetings and participate in those meetings as needed.
  • Support team development by coaching junior colleagues and reviewing their work.
  • Contribute to global projects and process improvements that promote consistency and efficiency.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

What you need to have:

  • Understanding of insurance, captive insurance, insurance policies, and insurance accounting.
  • Experience preparing financial statements, financial reports, or regulatory filings.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple client deliverables, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and project-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective client relationships.
  • Ability to work with clients, service providers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and follow regulatory, compliance, and internal-control requirements.
  • Experience supporting, coaching, or reviewing the work of junior colleagues.
