Position Summary
We're seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to design, develop, test, and support technology-based products including embedded control systems, user interfaces, and remote communication solutions. This role partners closely with product management and customers to drive new product development, technical design reviews, troubleshooting efforts, and engineering best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Lead small-scale new product development projects from concept through validation
Design and troubleshoot embedded control, communications, and power systems
Create and maintain technical documentation and design standards
Participate in and provide input during technical design reviews
Support customers and service teams with technical issue resolution
Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and field teams
Occasional travel up to 10%
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
5+ years of relevant electrical product development experience
Experience with control panel design, embedded systems, communications, and power circuits
Strong troubleshooting skills across analog, digital, and communication systems
Experience with PLM systems, preferably Windchill
Knowledge of TCP/IP, USB, RS-232, RS-485, and Wi-Fi communications
Familiarity with engineering test equipment and electrical standards (UL, CE, NEC, IEC)
Proven technical leadership and design review experience
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
Experience with Agile product development
Knowledge of National Instruments hardware and LabVIEW
Experience with irrigation equipment or related agricultural technology
