Pay Grade: Specialist 3
This position is a cashier at one of Wake Tech’s campuses. This position receipts student payments, non-student payments, assists students with inquiries, and performs various miscellaneous tasks.

*Serves as cashier which includes collecting tuition, library, and campus fees; validating receipts and routing copies for deposit preparation and registration confirmation; and receiving payments by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, sponsorships, and overpayments. Updates student accounts accordingly
*Serves as backup cashiers for other Wake Tech campuses as needed
*Routinely answers phones and responds to student voice mail and/or email inquiries as needed for Cashier’s office. This requires a working knowledge of the college’s tuition and fees payment plan, including how to sign-up; the college’s student refund process, including how to sign-up at BankMobile; financial aid; registration and records; and the Eagle Advantage book rental program
Assists the Financial Services and Business Services departments with miscellaneous tasks as needed, such as filing, copying, scanning, and maintaining files; distributing mail; and providing refunds for vending machine transactionsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and a calculator
Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills
Ability to quickly and accurately process transactions
Ability to track transactions and accurately count money
Ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
Effective collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Ability to maintain records accurately and consistently meet deadlines
Requirements:
High school diploma
Must be able to climb on a stool/ladder, reach, and/or squat to maintain accounting files in file room
Preferences:
Notary public designation
Prior experience in an office environment
