Sustainability Intern - Remote U.S. 2026

Responsibilities

Interns support Gilbane's sustainability initiatives, innovation projects, and reporting requirements. Potential responsibilities include: - Support the development and implementation of new sustainability programs, tools, and processes across Gilbane's business units. - Assist with strategic sustainability innovation projects, including research, benchmarking, and pilot initiatives. - Contribute to the development of sustainability resources, playbooks, and guidance documents, such as regenerative data center sustainability initiatives. - Organize, collect, analyze, and report sustainability data to support internal decision-making and external reporting requirements. - Engage with cross-functional teams to support sustainability initiatives - Monitor trends, regulations, and emerging practices in sustainability in the built environment. - Participate in weekly and ad hoc Sustainability Team meetings as needed. - Provide ad hoc support for sustainability initiatives, research requests, presentations, and program development activities.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION - Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program - Academic or professional experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office apps - Prior exposure to construction industry or sustainability is a plus - Or equivalent combination of education and experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES - Strong communication skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel - Curiosity - Self-motivation - Organization and attention to detail   This position can be performed remotely or from any U.S. location where Gilbane has an office. Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.
