Have you developed software solutions in computer networking within the cybersecurity sphere? We are seeking an experienced developer to work on an industry leading product and deliver on our key milestone components. Experience in designing and developing complex code on Linux is required. Computer networking knowledge is critical.

The Next-Generation Firewall team is an essential part of a global team that designs and develops Forcepoint’s Network Security capabilities to scale to meet the needs of hundreds of millions of Forcepoint users. We are looking for a highly motivated, ambitious, independent hard worker who wants to be part of a winning team.  

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced developer to work with a strong team within cyber security industry. 

Responsibilities: 

• Design and implement cross network security solutions in response to emerging threats 

• Develop, enhance, and maintain Forcepoint network security products 

• Assist and troubleshoot product related issues escalated by the product support team 

• Perform additional duties and projects as required to achieve organizational goals 

• Act as a technical leader and mentor for engineering team, growing engineers through hands-on guidance and challenging assignments. 

• Provide guidance on software design, low level implementation, and debugging of complex issues at the binary level. 

• Implement security software to a high quality and be a champion for architectural integrity. 

Skills and Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 

• 10+ years of experience with C/C++ on Linux 

• Experience in AI assisted software development 

• Good knowledge of OS internals and device driver fundamentals 

• Experience of leading development projects and the mentoring of junior developers 

• Strong troubleshooting skills, good coding and source management practices 

• Excellent debugging skills. 

• Strong understanding of operating system fundamentals such as file systems, network protocol stacks, process management, interrupt handling, and memory management. 

• Understanding or experience with certificate management, code signing, secure communications, encryption, trusted boot, or related topics. 

Soft Skills: 

• Experience of leading development teams from a technical viewpoint. 

• Ability to influence both the internal and external teams 

• Self-motivated to research new skills and technologies  

• Desire to develop talent and mentor junior engineers. 

• Experience working in a cross functional organization with distributed teams. 

• Strong communication (written and oral) and teamwork ethic within a diverse team environment. 

Preferred Skills: 

• Knowledge of network security highly desired 

• Experience developing and debugging kernel level code, system extensions and/or device drivers 

• Prior experience developing security products 

• Deep understanding of secure coding techniques, integrity measurement, and tamper detection. 

• Good understanding of test frameworks. 

• Direct experience with Agile methods. 

• Exposure to virtualization and containerization. 

• Knowledge of design patterns.  

• Solid understanding of build systems and continuous integration. 

• Strong personal commitment to quality and repeatable processes.
