Job Summary
The Lead Food Services Worker assists with the supervision of staff, department schedules, and coordination of functions for Food Services. They are also responsible for functioning as a Food Services Worker and responsible for the preparation, distribution and service of patient and employee meals. He/she is responsible for the preparation and portioning of salads, desserts, beverages and special patient snacks. The Lead Food Services Worker is responsible for the set up and breakdown of cafeteria food and supplies at each meal and functions as the steamtable server throughout the meal period. Works the meal service by washing dishes and trays and storing them for future use. The Lead Food Services Worker assembles daily nourishment orders and transports them to patient areas as required. The Lead Food Services Worker also maintains and cleans all food preparation equipment used throughout the day and participates in special cleaning projects as assigned. He/she exhibits knowledge of appropriate food handling techniques and general rules of sanitation. The Lead Food Services Worker is responsible for attending appropriate inservice sessions as presented in the department.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education Requirement:
High School or equivalent preferred.
Minimum Experience Requirement:
Previous hospital food services experience is required. Excellent customer service skills required.
Minimum License Requirement:
Serve Safe Certification preferred. HAACP Preferred. Must be 21 years of age or older; must have two (2) years of continuous driving experience in the state of California. If a license is suspended, the experience record begins from the time of license reinstatement. Must have no major convictions (ie DUI/DWI, hit and run, driving w/suspended license, reckless driving, eluding police, open containers, exhibition of speed (racing), negligent driving); must have no more than one (1) moving citation in a three (3) year period; must have no more than one (1) at- fault accident in a three (3) year period. Accidents will be considered at-fault unless evidence is provided (ie police report and/or letter from insurance company) showing the incident as not at-fault.
