Job Description:

The Investigations Manager is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a team of Investigations Analysts. This role oversees investigative quality, productivity, and risk management while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and enterprise standards.  Successful candidates demonstrate strong leadership, sound judgment, and effective decision-making. They balance operational performance with employee development and are comfortable partnering with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of investigators to meet production, quality, and service level expectations.

  • Provide guidance on complex investigations, suspicious activity assessments, and escalation decisions.

  • Review investigative findings to ensure documentation is accurate, thorough, and compliant with regulatory and enterprise requirements.

  • Support the timely and accurate completion of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) for submission to regulators and/or law enforcement.

  • Monitor team performance and drive accountability for quality, productivity, and risk management standards.

  • Conduct quality reviews and provide coaching to support employee development.

  • Partner with senior leaders and business stakeholders to communicate investigative trends, risks, and case outcomes.

  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to coach, develop, and motivate others.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present findings and recommendations.

  • Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to make sound, risk-based decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Proven ability to collaborate and build relationships across teams and organizational levels.

  • Technical proficiency with the ability to quickly learn and navigate multiple investigative systems and tools.

  • Demonstrated sense of urgency, accountability, and attention to detail.

Desired Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Anti-Money Laundering, Financial Crimes, Fraud, Investigations, or related risk management functions.

  • Prior leadership, mentoring, or workflow coordination experience.

  • Experience providing feedback, coaching, and performance guidance.

  • Familiarity with transaction monitoring and case management systems.

  • CAMS certification or willingness to obtain certification.
