Position Summary
Acuren is currently recruiting for an Infrared Technician.
Responsibilities
- Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment
- Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection
- Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results
- Organize and report test results
- Perform specialized inspections
- May instruct and supervise others
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Some college preferred
- Certified Level II
- Technical background in NDT methods and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections
- Knowledge of NDT equipment
- Experience in report writing
- Perform infrared thermographic inspections of fired equipment, electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and/or roofing at commercial and industrial job sites.
- Analyze thermal images to identify anomalies or potential failures
- Prepare detailed inspection reports using company templates, clearly document findings and communicate with fellow team members and relay that to the client.
- Represent the company professionally on-site as the primary customer contact.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and customer personnel to ensure clarity and accuracy of inspection results
- Complete reporting duties in a timely manner. Clean driving record and TWIC.
- Level II preferred with refinery experience or seasoned Level I able to achieve Level II within 3 months.
- Thermography certification from accredited institution.
- Excellent communication skills with individuals at all levels.
- Solid computer skills, especially with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and FLIR Software.
- Strong time management, organization, and attention to detail.
Willing and able to travel regularly but mostly in the Houston surrounding area.
