What You'll Do:
In the Environmental Services and Resident Support Assistant role, you’ll be primarily responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and orderly environment throughout the Turk Center. Approximately 80% of the position is dedicated to environmental services, including cleaning, disinfecting, room preparation and turnover, waste disposal, supply management, and identifying and reporting facility or safety concerns. Approximately 20% of the position involves providing general, non-clinical support to residents and assisting program staff with routine resident and program needs. The position works collaboratively with program, nursing, and clinical staff to support a safe, respectful, and welcoming residential environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains a clean, safe, sanitary, and orderly environment throughout the facility, including resident rooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, common areas, break rooms, and other assigned areas
- Sweeps, mops, vacuums, and polishes floors; shampoos carpets as needed
- Dusts, cleans, and disinfects furniture, equipment, fixtures, high-touch surfaces, windows, glass surfaces, mirrors, and other assigned areas
- Empties trash and recycling bins, replaces liners, and disposes of waste in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintains hallways, common areas, entrances, and resident spaces free of debris, clutter, wheelchairs, equipment, and other potential safety hazards
- Replenishes and monitors environmental services supplies, including soap, paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning products, and other necessary supplies
- Monitors inventory levels, prepares supply requests, and submits orders to the appropriate supervisor for approval
- Operates and maintains cleaning equipment, tools, and supplies safely and appropriately
- Follows established procedures for the use, labeling, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Adheres to established health, safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and environmental services procedures, including appropriate cleaning and disinfecting procedures when blood, bodily fluids, or other potentially infectious materials are identified
- Assists program staff with cleaning, sanitizing, and preparing resident rooms for new admissions, discharges, and room changes
- Assists with room setup, meeting and event preparation, and breakdown as needed.
- Maintains assigned outdoor areas, including entrances, walkways, and parking areas
- Identifies and promptly reports maintenance needs, damage, safety hazards, equipment concerns, supply shortages, and other environmental or operational concerns to supervisory staff
- Responds promptly and professionally to cleanliness concerns and supports the overall cleanliness, appearance, safety, and welcoming environment of the residential program
- Maintains awareness of resident needs while performing environmental services duties and promptly reports significant changes in a resident's physical condition, behavior, mood, functioning, or safety to appropriate program, nursing, or clinical staff
- Provides basic, non-clinical resident support under the direction and supervision of program, nursing, and clinical staff.
- Assists with resident admissions, transfers, room preparation, orientation, and discharges as assigned
- Orients new residents to their rooms, facility routines, common areas, and applicable program expectations upon admission and as needed
- Supports residents with accessing appointments and scheduling transportation in accordance with program policies and procedures
- Provides support during therapeutic, recreational, and other program activities within the scope of the position, training, and program procedures
- Promotes a safe, respectful, and therapeutic residential environment by following program protocols and modeling appropriate behavior
- Utilizes appropriate behavioral health, communication, and safety skills to help prevent injury to residents, staff, and others.
- Responds appropriately to resident concerns and crisis situations within the scope of training, including following established safety and de-escalation procedures and promptly notifying appropriate staff
- Escalates resident needs, behavioral concerns, safety issues, environmental hazards, and operational concerns to supervisory or clinical staff in a timely manner
- Maintains confidentiality of resident information and records and follows applicable privacy requirements
- Communicates effectively and collaboratively with residents, coworkers, supervisors, nursing and clinical staff, visitors, and community partners
- Attends and participates in program and agency meetings, trainings, quality improvement activities, and events as required.
- Follows all agency and program policies, procedures, health and safety requirements, infection-control practices, and confidentiality standards
- Performs additional duties as assigned
Requirements
Who You Are:

- High school diploma or GED, required
- 1+ years of experience in the janitorial or cleaning industry, preferred
- Experience working with disabled, severely mentally ill, medically fragile, and homeless populations, preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish/English), preferred

Hours: Friday - Tuesday 8PM-4:30AM or 10PM-6:30AM
Hourly Rate: $22.00-$22.53
