Company Description
At Zayo Europe, we’re driven by a bold vision to power the world through connectivity. We’ve built and operated the critical fibre networks that keep businesses, communities, and economies connected. In 2024, we embarked on an exciting new chapter as a standalone company — a milestone that empowers us to innovate, grow, and lead with greater agility. As we continue to evolve, our mission remains clear: to deliver fast, reliable, and scalable infrastructure that fuels the digital world.
We are seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Account Executive (New Business) to join Zayo Europe’s New Business team, focused on acquiring new customers across the European Carrier market.
This is an opportunity for someone with 1–2 years of B2B sales or business development experience who wants to build a career within the European digital infrastructure industry.
The role will have a strong new-business “hunter” focus. You will be responsible for developing a portfolio of prospective Carrier customers across Europe, with particular focus on opportunities created by Zayo Europe’s expansion into new Points of Presence (PoPs), cities and markets.
You will work alongside experienced sales, commercial, product and technical teams to identify prospects, open new relationships, build pipeline and convert opportunities into new customers and revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, prospect and acquire new Carrier customers across Europe.
- Develop pipeline across Carriers, ISPs, network operators and service providers.
- Target opportunities created by Zayo Europe’s expansion into new PoPs, cities and markets.
- Conduct proactive outreach through calls, emails, LinkedIn, industry events and other channels.
- Build relationships with prospective customers and understand their business and network requirements.
- Work with internal commercial, product and technical teams to develop suitable customer solutions.
- Manage opportunities throughout the complete sales cycle, from initial engagement through to contract signature.
- Maintain accurate opportunity, pipeline and forecasting information within the CRM.
- Attend relevant industry events and customer meetings across Europe.
- Develop a strong understanding of Zayo Europe’s network, products, capabilities and value proposition.
Qualifications & Experience
- Approximately 1–2 years of experience in B2B sales, business development or a customer-facing commercial role.
- A demonstrable interest in technology, connectivity or digital infrastructure.
- Strong communication, relationship-building and organisational skills.
- Confidence engaging with prospective customers through telephone, email, social media and face-to-face meetings.
- A proactive and resilient approach to prospecting and new-business development.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with colleagues across different functions and countries.
- Fluent English is required. Additional European languages would be a strong advantage.
- Willingness to travel across Europe when required.
Rewards
- Competitive compensation including sales incentive plan
- Hybrid working
- Excellent benefits including health, disability and life insurance
- Pension with higher employer contributions up to 8%
- Retail and fitness membership discounts
- Generous paid time off policy including enhanced paid parental leave, 25 days paid time off, one floating day and two volunteer days off per annum
- Employee assistance programs including mental health, wellbeing and medical support
