Job Description

The HR Generalist will work closely with the CHRO and Director-HR Systems, supporting the Firmwide HR department on firmwide HR functions. This role serves as a trusted HR advisor and facilitator for Pillsbury offices worldwide. The successful candidate must be a skilled communicator with a proven ability to balance compassion with policy. The HR Generalist must have the ability to instill confidence and trust among constituencies, demonstrate a commitment to maintaining confidentiality, and uphold high performance standards with a focus on client service and professionalism.

Representative Key Responsibilities:

Position Requests and Background Checks

  • Work closely with the HRIS team to support local offices and firmwide departments in meeting staffing needs by facilitating approvals for new, replacement, temporary, or alternative positions and reviewing supporting justification.

  • Track and review job postings to ensure compliance, and coordinate with local HR advisors to review current contractors and confirm staffing needs are met.

  • Review, track, and provide regular reports to the CHRO and Senior HR Systems Manager on open job requisitions and contingent workers.

  • Administer the background check process, including reviewing, tracking, and assisting HR advisors with background check matters.

Compliance and Policy Implementation

  • Assist and support Firmwide HR with implementing ongoing initiatives and projects, including EEO-1, VETS-100, Affirmative Action, and other compliance requirements, as well as related reporting, recordkeeping, and tracking.

  • Keep abreast of changes in federal, state, and local laws impacting policies and employment practices, and ensure that new or updated policies are reflected in the staff and attorney handbooks.

  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation in accordance with legal requirements and best practices.

  • Assist with coordinating employee agreements, separation releases, acknowledgments, and related documentation, including routing for Legal review, tracking status, maintaining records, and following up with stakeholders as needed.

  • Assist, coordinate, and track all compliance training.

Firmwide HR Rollouts and Initiatives

  • Work closely with the HRIS team to assist with communications to local HR regarding firmwide rollouts.

Training and Development

  • Assist with creating career paths and training programs for business professionals.

HR Systems and Reporting

  • Maintain HRIS and ensure data accuracy and integrity.

  • Generate and analyze HR reports and metrics.

  • Assist with a variety of ALA and privately sponsored surveys and work with others to participate in other surveys and applications for awards and rankings.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and three to five years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist role and in a professional service, fast-paced environment.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.

  • Experience with an HRIS system for extracting and reporting data.

  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent collaborator with outstanding written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

  • A positive professional attitude and ability to work in a team environment.

Physical Requirements of the Position:

  • Must have the ability to lift/carry file boxes up to 25 lbs.

The expected salary range for this position is $55,000 – $65,000.  Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skill set, and geographic location.
