Job Summary:
As an AML QA Analyst, you will support the accuracy and integrity of Central 1's AML/ATF regulatory reporting program by reviewing STRs and other FINTRAC filings for quality and compliance. Partnering with AML Services, you will identify trends, errors, and process improvements, while helping enhance automated filing solutions. This role is well suited to a detail-oriented professional who excels in quality assurance, compliance, and process optimization.
What you'll be doing:
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of STRs and other regulatory filings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Perform pre-submission and post-submission reviews of filings prepared by AML Filing Support Associates, Analysts, and Investigators.
- Validate report content against supporting documentation, case records, and reporting standards.
- Identify errors, omissions, inconsistencies, and data quality issues, and provide feedback to support corrective action.
- Perform quality control sampling and testing activities to assess filing accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
- Conduct trend analysis and reporting to identify recurring issues, control gaps, training opportunities, and process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain records of quality assurance findings, remediation activities, and key performance metrics.
- Support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of quality assurance procedures, standards, and documentation.
- Provide guidance and support to AML team members regarding filing requirements, data quality expectations, and regulatory reporting standards.
- Escalate material quality, compliance, or reporting concerns to management as appropriate.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reporting quality, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Adhere to Central 1's internal policies and procedures.
What you'll have:
- Post-secondary education in business, finance, compliance, criminology, law, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of experience in AML/ATF compliance, regulatory reporting, quality assurance, financial crime operations, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of AML/ATF regulatory requirements and FINTRAC reporting obligations.
- Experience reviewing regulatory filings, compliance documentation, or operational processes for accuracy and completeness is considered an asset.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies, errors, and omissions in written reports and data.
- Experience performing quality assurance, quality control, testing, or validation activities is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Experience working with case management systems, regulatory reporting platforms, or financial crime applications is considered an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear and constructive feedback.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Salary range: $50,000-$56,500
The salary represents the job rate determined for the successful candidate who is fully competent in the role. The actual salary will vary depending on market conditions and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
