nVent is growing, and we want you to be a part of it! We are opening a new manufacturing facility in Lexington, MN, to support our expanding Data Solutions business. We are looking for hardworking individuals like you to join our dynamic team. Be part of our journey to shape the future and grow with us! This position is based in Lexington, MN, and our new facility will open in 2027. Upon hire, onboarding and training will be held at our facilities in Blaine or Anoka, MN until the Lexington facility opens.
The Industrial Engineer leads the development and improvement of manufacturing systems to improve safety, productivity, cost, throughput, quality, and flow efficiency. This role drives operational excellence through data-driven analysis, Lean methodologies, and cross-functional collaboration while supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and long-term manufacturing growth.
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
Lead the design and optimization of manufacturing systems (layouts, workflows, material flow) to improve throughput, capacity utilization, lead time, and operational efficiency.
Drive improvements in safety, productivity, and flow efficiency through data-driven analysis, Lean methodologies, and continuous improvement practices.
Identify and eliminate bottlenecks to improve material flow, cycle time, and WIP reduction.
Lead initiatives to reduce operational costs, improve resource utilization, and deliver measurable productivity improvements.
Conduct advanced analysis including time studies, capacity modeling, and simulation to optimize system performance and scalability.
Partner with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing performance, quality outcomes, and process capability through process optimization.
Lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives, tracking KPI impact across safety, quality, cost, productivity, and cycle time.
Develop capacity models and resource plans to align demand, production capability, and utilization.
Support the launch of new products by ensuring manufacturability, scalability, and alignment with engineering guidelines.
Leverage ERP systems, operational analytics, and data visualization tools to support data-driven decision making and sustained performance improvement.
Establish and standardize engineering best practices, design guidelines, and continuous improvement frameworks.
YOU HAVE:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
7+ years of progressive experience leading complex manufacturing, material flow, or facility optimization initiatives in dynamic or high-volume production environments.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive measurable operational improvements through Lean manufacturing, process improvement, and systems optimization.
Experience using CAD tools to develop and evaluate facility layouts and material flow concepts.
Experience using production simulation software preferred.
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt strongly preferred; PMP certification is a plus.
Advanced Excel skills; SQL experience is a nice-to-have.
Experience using data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau to support data-driven decision making.

Pay Transparency
nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range:
Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
