Five Below Internship Program - Fall 2027

At Five Below our internships focus on company strategic initiatives in the exciting environment of value-driven, fun-focused retail. We are seeking energetic, responsible go-getters with innovative ideas, ready to actively participate in company initiatives.

We LOVE our interns! Our internship is curated to deliver a rich learning experience for both personal and professional growth. Our program is hands-on, engaging in meaningful work that directly contributes to the company’s missions and ultimate success. You are an active contributor and valued as a part of your team!

Location

Our alumni agree – we’ve got the magic balance of flexibility and immersion when our interns align with our HQ hybrid model. All applicants should plan to be in the Philadelphia area and in HQ (aka WowTown) at least one a week for the duration of the internship.

Internship Details

• Fall internship with possibility to stay through the school year and summer internship program
• Part time – 20 hours/wk
• Paid – $19.50/hr
• Hybrid – at least one day in office
• Hands on, results driven projects. No coffee fetching here!  
• Strategic Project focused, coupled with day-to-day responsibilities and development programming

Project Details

This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to work at the heart of our Finance organization, supporting critical Tax and Treasury operations. The intern will gain real-world experience contributing to high-impact processes that keep our financial engine running smoothly.

Key responsibilities include assisting with tax reporting and use tax accruals, reviewing SKUs and store locations to ensure accurate tax codes and rates, participating in tax audit preparation, assisting in income tax compliance and provisioning, performing daily bank reconciliations, and analyzing bank fees.

Throughout the experience, the intern will develop practical skills in financial analysis, compliance, and cash management while contributing to process improvements that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and operational excellence across our tax, and treasury functions.

Requirements

• Must be actively enrolled as rising Junior, Senior, Grad Student or recent Grad with a relevant background. Those studying under an associate’s certificate or similar program may be considered if coursework and skills fit the individual project requirements.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Must have strong Microsoft Excel Skills and be comfortable with other Microsoft Office products & remote meeting software
• Must be a self-starter, highly passionate & detail-oriented
• Active ability to problem solve & communicate effectively
• Knowledge and passion for our brand is a plus!

• Degree area or experience in Finance, Accounting, and Economics or similar
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Effective critical thinking, problem-solving, and project management
