Warehouse Pharmacist

Our client is seeking an experienced Warehouse Pharmacist to join their team in Clayville. This role is ideal for a quality-focused professional who understands pharmaceutical warehouse operations, regulatory compliance and Good Warehousing and Distribution Practices. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining warehouse quality systems, supporting regulatory compliance and ensuring that operational processes consistently meet required pharmaceutical standards.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, review, update and implement warehouse SOPs.
• Manage deviations, CAPAs and change controls, ensuring effective tracking and successful closure.
• Train warehouse employees on SOPs, GWP and relevant quality procedures.
• Conduct monthly self-inspections and support third-party and regulatory audits.
• Coordinate warehouse validation projects, equipment calibration and technical agreements where required.
• Monitor temperature and humidity conditions and manage any out-of-specification events.
• Monitor warehouse processes including receiving, dispatch, cycle counts and stock control.
• Coordinate sampling, stock investigations and the destruction of pharmaceutical goods.
• Initiate warehouse risk assessments and participate in Quality Management Reviews.
• Compile regular compliance and stock reports.
• Ensure warehouse readiness for SAHPRA and SAPC audits.
• Assist with bi-annual stock counts and other quality-related warehouse projects.

Requirements:

• B.Pharm Degree.
• Active registration/membership with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
• 2–3 years’ experience as a Pharmacist or Warehouse Pharmacist.
• Experience within a pharmaceutical distribution or wholesale environment would be advantageous.
• GWP/GDP training is essential.
• Preferably at least one year of Quality Assurance experience.
• Knowledge of validation protocols would be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical warehouse and distribution procedures.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and contribute within a team environment.
• Valid driver’s licence.
