Position Summary
The Warehouse Shipper is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation, packaging, and shipment of finished goods. This role supports warehouse operations by ensuring customer orders are processed correctly, inventory records are maintained accurately, and shipments are prepared in accordance with company procedures and safety standards. The position also assists with general warehouse activities, loading operations, and documentation requirements as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Shipping and Order Processing
- Verify customer orders for accuracy by matching product quantities, item descriptions, serial numbers, and batch numbers.
- Inspect products for defects or discrepancies prior to shipment and report issues for resolution.
- Replace defective or damaged items before packaging.
- Package products securely to ensure safe transportation and delivery.
- Prepare, print, and apply shipping labels and required documentation.
- Process outbound shipments using designated warehouse and shipping software systems.
- Pack and ship customer orders in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Coordinate shipments with the appropriate carrier or courier to ensure timely delivery.
- Prepare invoices, delivery orders, and other shipping-related documents.
- Record and maintain accurate shipping transactions in company databases and systems.
Warehouse Operations
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure products are loaded securely and shipped on schedule.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels of shipping and packaging supplies.
- Operate manual and electric pallet jacks and other material-handling equipment as required.
- Assist with general warehouse duties to support daily operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of warehouse experience required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of shipping and logistics experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience operating barcode printers, handheld scanners, and high-speed scanning equipment.
- Ability to load, unload, move, stack, and store materials manually or with powered industrial equipment.
- Ability to package, wrap, measure, weigh, count, and prepare products for shipment or storage.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), including Latitude, as well as UPS and FedEx shipping platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong sense of urgency and accountability.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong data entry, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Prophet 21 (P21) preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent use of hands and arms for handling, reaching, and operating equipment.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, and perform repetitive physical movements as required.
- Ability to communicate effectively and hear verbal instructions in a warehouse environment.
Work Environment
The work environment is primarily a warehouse setting. Employees may be exposed to:
- Moving mechanical equipment and powered industrial vehicles.
- Dust, fumes, and airborne particles.
- Varying temperatures and humidity levels.
- Occasional outdoor weather conditions.
- Moderate warehouse noise levels.
Employees are expected to follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) when applicable.
