Senior Data Engineer

At Advian, we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design and build modern data solutions for our customers especially in the energy and manufacturing sectors.

In this role, you will work hands-on with cloud data platforms and operational data, building reliable data solutions for a range of use cases, from analytics and data-driven applications to AI and machine learning.

THE ROLE

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design and implement data solutions together with our customers and other Advians. Depending on the project, you may work across the full data lifecycle – from data ingestion and modelling to pipelines, databases and production-ready cloud solutions.

Your responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing data solutions on AWS and/or Azure
- Designing and building data models and databases
- Working with IoT, streaming and other operational data sources
- Designing and implementing data pipelines
- Building reliable, scalable and maintainable data solutions
- Making technical and architectural decisions together with customers and other experts 

Depending on your background and interests, you may also work with API development and different modern data platforms and technologies.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

We would be a great match if you have: 
- Strong hands-on data engineering experience with AWS and/or Azure – expertise in one is enough, while experience with both is a definite advantage
- Solid skills in Python and PostgreSQL
- Experience with ETL/ELT, data modelling and database design
- Experience working with IoT and/or streaming data
- The ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions and take ownership of your work
- Fluent English

It is considered a plus if you have: 
- Fluent finnish
- Experience in designing and implementing APIs
- Experience with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric or Snowflake
- Knowledge of Data Vault modelling

- Location: Espoo or remotely from anywhere in Finland
