Our facility in West Lampeter Township is a fast-paced manufacturing facility with over 200 employees committed to living our values of Care, Challenge, Commit, Change, and Create.Who are we looking for:A leader to enable, coach, and deliver results as a Maintenance Supervisor for a team of technicians dedicated to maintaining injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and manufacturing infrastructure. This role’s focus is on managing day-to-day activities of the maintenance department and implementing best practices including TPM and Reliability Centered Maintenance methodologies.
What do you need to be successful in this role:Be technically competent and have a good foundation in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and controls basics and be eager to learn specifics about Stryten machines.Be able to work in fast-paced manufacturing facility where customers' orders, maintenance tasks, and competing priorities shift rapidly.Implement new maintenance practices, provide support and constructive feedback, and sustain gains by auditing and ensuring accountability.Be able to critically evaluate repairs and decide on best methods. Take the time to develop and coach technicians by assigning technically challenging tasks, providing frequent feedback, and partnering technicians with subject-matter experts.Have working knowledge and practical application of current trends in maintenance management related to TPM, RCM, RCA and FMEA.Reinforce safety-focused culture and provide guidance to the maintenance team in implementing safety techniques and processes.
Responsibilities
• Oversees and performs all supervisory responsibilities for assigned staff, which include scheduling, prioritizing and assigning work, training, hiring, and addressing and/or documenting performance or disciplinary issues. • Reviews work orders and other work requests. Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to production and building maintenance. • Responds to emergencies as requested. Directs the work of staff and utilization of resources to complete repairs and ensure employee safety. Coordinates overall maintenance activities in consideration of production schedules and department demands. • Executes Preventive Maintenance program for applicable equipment and machinery for production and facilities. • Inspects projects assigned to staff. Develops and recommends improvements or changes when needed. • Answers questions and provides information related to projects including resolving problems, approving expenditures, handling complaints and providing technical expertise in area of assignment. • Arranges for and manages, appropriate third-party contractor support, as needed. Researches vendors and suppliers to determine best products and services for Company needs. Secures contracts with suppliers and oversees delivery of products and services. Inspects contractors' work to ensure that safe work practices and standard operating procedures are followed. • Provides input into the development of the operating budget for the assigned area of responsibility; orders materials and supplies; assists in the monitoring and tracking of expenditures, including supplies, labor and outside contractors. • Participates in management meetings and provides project status to management staff. • Actively supports new facility construction or remodeling projects, and equipment assembly or modification. Determines and designs electrical and mechanical systems and equipment, and oversees the installation. Develops prototype of new machines and oversees assembly. • Prepares records related to the work performed and materials and supplies used; ensure timely receival of invoices in the computerized purchasing system. • Complies with Company and OSHA safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas. Ensures that safety training is provided for staff and that proper safety practices are followed. • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Experience, Certifications• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline preferred• High School Diploma with Industrial Maintenance coursework• Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, including knowledge of PLCs, HVAC systems, chilled water systems, and electrical and mechanical equipment
Competencies, Skills, Knowledge• Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, CMMS• Proven technical aptitude for electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment• Understanding of Industrial maintenance systems.• Strong communication and documentation skills.• Able to handle multiple tasks and create a sense of urgency for completion of tasks.• Independent problem solving and decision- making skills.• Proficiency with budgeting, Continuous improvement / Lean management, Performance Management• Strong attention to detail• Knowledge of environmental regulations as they pertain to this facility• Knowledge of OSHA requirements as they pertain to this facility• Able to work all shifts and overtime as necessary• Ability to follow all environmental, health and safety procedure• Proven satisfactory work history (attendance and performance). This must be maintained. Attendance is critical to this position.
Environment & Physical DemandsThis role is located at the Lampeter, PA manufacturing site. This facility operates 24/7 and as a member of the Leadership Team the Maintenance Supervisor must always be available in case of emergency.In order to perform the essential job functions of this position, some physical demands are required. The individual in this position will be frequently engaged in activities that require body mobility in order to engage in: lifting and carrying items in excess of 50 lbs., moving about in the workplace utilizing ladders, catwalks, and scaffolding. The individual in this position will need to sit, stand, kneel, crawl, and stoop regularly. Maintaining regular attendance, following instructions, understanding workplace materials, and communicating with others are essential to being successful in this role.
