Within the Johnson & Johnson MedTech Supply Chain Procurement organization, the Global MedTech External Warehousing Procurement Team is responsible for building and implementing logistics solutions that develop a world-class network of best-value suppliers meeting J&J business needs of supply quality and reliability, responsiveness, cost competitiveness, and access to technology and innovation to fuel superior growth.
The Manager, External Warehousing Procurement supports execution of category strategies, sourcing events, and supplier management across External Warehousing. This role works closely with Senior Managers/Directors and cross-functional partners to deliver cost, service, and compliance objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Execute end-to-end sourcing and RFP activities, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business requirements.
Execute negotiations and contract implementation, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and standards.
Apply and reinforce standardized procurement practices (COE), ensuring consistent execution of sourcing processes, governance, and tools across engagements.
Lead and partner with Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance to align on requirements, scope, and pricing structures.
Own supplier performance management, including KPI tracking, issue resolution, and continuous improvement (QBRs/MBRs).
Drive visibility and tracking of sourcing pipeline, priorities, and timelines, ensuring alignment with stakeholders.
Deliver cost improvement projects (CIP) and maintain reporting discipline.
Maintain deep market intelligence on supplier landscapes and drive innovation/ continuous improvement across service, cost-to-serve, and compliance (e.g., visibility, exception management, standardized controls).
Apply standard sourcing and contracting processes, including use of templates, tools, and governance checkpoints.
Identify and escalate risks, constraints, and capacity gaps, supporting mitigation actions to ensure continuity
Qualifications:
Master’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field
A minimum of six (6) years of related experience is required.
Prior work experience in a Logistics, Procurement or Sourcing environment with thorough understanding of logistics operations – both warehousing and transportation services is required.
Knowledge of healthcare and/or logistics industry / logistics service providers is preferred.
Strong Leadership, Influencing, Collaboration and Communication/Presentation skills are required. Ability to influence stakeholders and facilitate coordination of large matrixed and/or virtual teams.
Demonstrated experience managing complex warehousing contracts with sophisticated pricing structures, including labor-based, activity-based, fixed/variable, and productivity-linked commercial models.
Strong understanding of warehouse operations and operational cost drivers, including labor planning, productivity measurements, storage utilization, inventory handling, and value-added services.
Advanced analytical capabilities, including financial modelling, should-cost analysis, and evaluation of warehousing pricing proposals. Highly proficient in Excel/Knowledge or Sourcing Tools .
Fluent in English (written & spoken) with excellent communication & negotiation skills (written & verbal).
Compensation (Belgium Market Reference)
For candidates hired in Belgium, the anticipated annual base salary range for this position is EUR 79,800 to EUR 159,600. Individual compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, qualifications, and location, and may vary for candidates hired in other countries.
