Job Description:
Winchester Hospital is a 5x Magnet designated, Top 10 Massachusetts recognized 223-bed regional hospital that is the leading provider of comprehensive health care services in the northwest suburban Boston area.
As part of the Patient Care Services team, this position performs the following tasks under the direction of a RN:
Watches over patients that have been designated as a risk-to-self.
Assists patients with walking.
Effectively communicates with all members of the patient care team throughout the shift
and completes a thorough and comprehensive handoff with the other Patient Safety Associates and RNs.
Assists in the patient’s meal and nourishment, by setting up trays, feeding the patient
and/or assisting the patient in eating.
Engages patients and family members in conversation and provides basic emotional
support.
Assists patients in the set up of personal and oral hygiene needs and dressing.
Keeps the room clean and tidy to improve the patient’s and family member’s experience.
Education:
Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent
Other Skills/Knowledge:
Required: Knowledge of basic medical terminology. Strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred: For safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital team.

Pay Range:
$18.00 - $24.23The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
