Description
About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Research Scientist with strong expertise in bioanalytical mass spectrometry to join our Method Development team. The successful candidate will lead the development and optimization of regulatory-ready bioanalytical methods using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) for a variety of therapeutic modalities, including small molecules, peptides, biologics, biomarkers, and oligonucleotides.
What You’ll Do Here
Develop and optimize robust bioanalytical methods using LC-MS/MS in compliance with regulatory standards.
Perform and oversee sample preparation, analysis, and data interpretation while meeting project timelines and quality expectations.
Investigate and resolve complex bioanalytical challenges through systematic troubleshooting, experimental design, and root-cause assessment.
Participate in client discussions and scientific meetings, communicating method development strategies, analytical results, and technical recommendations.
Prepare, review, and approve method development reports, SOPs, and other technical documentation as required.
Collaborate with validation and operational teams to support successful method transfer and implementation.
Stay current with advancements in LC-MS technologies and best practices to support continuous improvement.
Adhere to Health and Safety protocols, including personal protective practices and laboratory upkeep.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Master’s or Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related discipline; a Bachelor’s degree with significant relevant experience may also be considered.
Typically 5-8+ years of relevant experience in LC-MS/MS bioanalysis, with demonstrated experience independently leading bioanalytical method development projects.
Experience in sample preparation techniques appropriate to the analyte type (e.g., protein precipitation, solid-phase extraction, immunoaffinity-based approaches, enzymatic digestion).
Strong scientific writing, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both scientific and non-scientific stakeholders.
