 Job Title: Secondary Mathematics Teacher

School Year: 2026–2027


Job Duties

The Secondary Mathematics Teacher reports to the Principal and provides effective mathematics instruction while supporting students' academic and individual learning needs.


Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver mathematics instruction aligned with New Jersey standards and the school curriculum.
  • Develop and adapt lessons to meet individual student needs and learning profiles.
  • Implement student IEP goals and accommodations and maintain accurate student records.
  • Use differentiated and multisensory instructional strategies to support student learning.
  • Monitor and communicate student progress with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
  • Maintain a positive, safe, and structured classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and other professionals to support student needs.
  • Attend IEP meetings, staff meetings, professional development, and required school activities.
  • Supervise students as assigned.
  • Support the mission, philosophy, policies, and educational goals of The Newgrange School.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal or Administration.


Requirements

 Job Requirements

2026–2027 School Year | Grades 6–12 Mathematics

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid New Jersey instructional certificate or Statement of Eligibility appropriate for teaching mathematics in Grades 6–12.
  • Knowledge of effective mathematics instructional strategies, differentiated instruction, and developmentally appropriate practices for students in Grades 6–12.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs and profiles.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
  • NJDOE-required fingerprinting and criminal history clearance.
  • Other qualifications as determined appropriate by the Principal and/or Executive Director.
