Activity Coordinator
Hourly Salary: $20.84/hourly
Job Type: Full-Time
Shift: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 3:30pm
Hours per pay period: 80

Job Description:

We’re looking for a creative, energetic, and compassionate Activity Coordinator to join our team and develop engaging recreational, social, educational, and community-based activities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
This is more than planning activities; it’s an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by creating inclusive experiences that encourage choice, independence, social connection, skill development, and community participation. The Activity Coordinator will bring creativity and enthusiasm to developing individualized and group activities, special events, community outings, arts and crafts, wellness opportunities, and other experiences based on each person’s interests, abilities, and goals.
Duties Include but not limited to:
- Design, schedule, and implement a diverse monthly calendar of events, workshops, crafts, outings, and wellness activities tailored to participant interests and abilities.
- Build relationships with participants, encourage active involvement, and gather feedback to continuously improve programming.
- Secure required venues, arrange transportation for off-site trips, set up equipment, and manage activity supplies within an established budget.
- Source, schedule, and coordinate outside entertainment, instructors, speakers, and volunteer groups.
- Create promotional materials, newsletters, or digital flyers to announce upcoming events and maintain active communication with staff, participants, and families.
- Track activity attendance, monitor program participation, and maintain supply inventories. Assist in data collection for grants and reporting purposes.
- Responsible for researching, planning, promoting and implementing Community-based activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate degree preferred
- Full driver’s license
- Clean driving record with 2 years driving experience and less than 2 points
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
- Creative, enthusiastic, organized, and comfortable leading groups
- Previous experience planning and leading activities, lessons, programs, events, or group experiences
- Demonstrate sound time management and dependability
- Experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Basic Computer Skills
- DDA and ICM experience is a plus
