Data Migration SME
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and execution of end-to-end data migration activities across complex transformation and system implementation programs
Define data migration strategies, approaches, and plans, including data extraction, transformation, cleansing, loading, and validation activities
Perform source-to-target mapping, data profiling, data assessment, and reconciliation to ensure data quality and migration readiness
Collaborate with business stakeholders, solution architects, developers, and data teams to define migration requirements and resolve data-related issues
Provide subject matter expertise on data structures, business rules, data governance, and migration dependencies throughout the delivery lifecycle
Define and implement data quality controls, validation frameworks, and reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of migrated data
Support migration testing activities including SIT, UAT, dress rehearsals, cutover planning, and post-migration validation
Identify and manage migration risks, issues, dependencies, and data quality concerns and provide recommendations for mitigation
Lead data migration workshops and engage with business and technical stakeholders to gain agreement on migration approaches and outcomes
Support cutover activities and provide guidance during migration execution and hypercare phases
Contribute to data governance, data management, and continuous improvement initiatives across the program
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong experience delivering end-to-end data migration projects across large-scale transformation programs
Experience with data profiling, source-to-target mapping, transformation rules, reconciliation, and data validation processes
Strong understanding of data quality management, data governance, and migration best practices
Experience working with ETL and data migration tools such as SSIS, Informatica, SAP BODS, Syniti, DataStage, or similar platforms
Strong SQL and database skills, including experience with relational databases and data analysis techniques
Experience supporting migration testing, defect resolution, cutover planning, and post-migration support activities
Ability to engage effectively with business stakeholders and technical delivery teams to resolve complex data-related challenges
Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Excellent stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, and communication skills
Desirable Qualifications
Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Snowflake
Experience with master data management (MDM) and data governance frameworks
Knowledge of data warehousing, reporting, and analytics solutions
Relevant certifications in data management, data migration, cloud platforms, or ETL tools
