Homewood is seeking a Senior Lead Lift Operator to join the Lift & Gondola Operations Department.
Job Summary:
Senior Lead Lift Operators are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of Lift Operations and the Operators. Senior Lead Operators will consistently move between chairlift terminals to ensure proper setup each morning, ensure breaks and lunch breaks are conducted on time as well as verifying that operations are running smoothly and consistently, to ensure the best guest experience possible. Senior Lead Operators are expected to lead by example on a daily basis.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist the Lift Operations Supervisor with coordinating and conducting pre-season training
Ensure all operations are A.N.S.I. B77 compliant, at all times.
Align staff around clear departmental goals set by the Lift Operations Manager and Supervisor, while providing ongoing coaching to ensure timely, high-quality results.
Ensure chairlift loading and unloading areas are free of debris, smooth, and ready for guest/employee loading and unloading
Oversee the set-up of mazes and signage depending on the demand for the day
Provide leadership and operational support to Lead Operators and Lift Operators, ensuring the efficient execution of daily operations.
Ensure each chairlift team has the resources, support, and direction needed to operate successfully throughout the day.
Provide ongoing coaching, training, and on-the-job development to Lift Operators, including the ability to effectively instruct and lead groups of employees.
Provide oversight and assistance with daily Lift Operator break and meal periods to maintain appropriate staffing and operational coverage.
Partner with Lead Operators to ensure break and meal schedules are effectively coordinated and maintained for their assigned chairlift.
Maintain a high level of attentiveness and engagement to ensure the safe and efficient loading and unloading of passengers from chairlift carriers.
Snow removal, as required.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of Lift Operations Experience
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Lead Lift Operator
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, train, and develop employees in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
Strong observational and situational awareness skills with the ability to remain highly attentive to passenger loading and unloading activities and respond quickly to changing operational conditions.
Ability to communicate with guests confidently and assertively to ensure their safety.
Ability to collaborate effectively with Lead Operators and management to ensure efficient daily lift operations.
18 years of age or older.
Intermediate skiing or snowboarding ability is required.
Additional Requirements:
Flexibility and ability to pivot to new projects and desire to work in fast-paced environment.
Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

The Company’s good faith estimate of the hourly rate it expects to pay for this role is $28.85-$36 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
