Point-Of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Fellowship

Responsibilities

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) is seeking a highly motivated physician to join our one-year Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship. This fellowship offers an exceptional opportunity to advance clinical expertise in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) while playing an integral role in our academic mission.

 

As an Ultrasound Fellow, you will maintain clinical practice in our busy academic emergency department while helping to shape the education of emergency medicine residents and medical students. Fellows are actively involved in expanding and advancing the department's ultrasound program through teaching, quality improvement, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

 

Key fellowship responsibilities include:•    Leading weekly ultrasound quality assurance (QA) image review sessions.•    Developing and delivering resident lectures, hands-on workshops, and supervised scanning sessions.•    Providing ultrasound education for medical students throughout their curriculum.•    Collaborating with departments across the institution and regional partners to support ultrasound education and training initiatives.•    Contributing to the continued growth and innovation of the DHMC Emergency Ultrasound Program.

This is a one-year fellowship designed for physicians seeking advanced training in emergency ultrasound while making a meaningful impact on the education of future clinicians.

Required Licensure/Certifications

•    MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.•    Completion of an accredited residency program in Emergency Medicine.•    Current or eligible for unrestricted medical license in the state of New Hampshire.•    Board Certification or eligibility from an ABMS-recognized board, with certification to be obtained within five years if not already achieved.
