Description
ROLE SUMMARY
The Rare Cardiac Field Marketing & National Strategy Lead (12-18 months secondment) is a mission-critical, highly visible role created to unify how Pfizer engages those that shape the ATTR-CM (transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy) market. As Vyndamax navigates a pivotal competitive period in its lifecycle — with a new oral stabilizer (acoramidis / Attruby) and gene-silencing therapies now approved in cardiomyopathy — success will depend less on any single channel and more on Sales, Key Account Directors (KAD), Access Care Managers (ACM), and Field Medical operating as one coordinated team within each priority account.
As an experienced, field-based marketing leader, the incumbent sets the national cross-functional field strategy, works cross-functionally with Sales/Account Management & Patient Solutions to define how the customer-facing colleague (CFC) model is deployed against the highest-impact accounts within distinct geographic areas, and serves as the connective tissue between headquarters strategy and field execution — facilitating commercial, access, and medical field teams into alignment around a single, insight-led area and accounts based plan, and operating strictly within Pfizer's cross-functional governance and the commercial, medical, and patient solutions firewalls.
The mandate works at two altitudes. At the top of the market, the incumbent works across the Top 25 amyloid accounts that most influence franchise performance. Beyond them, the role identifies regional, area, and local-level opportunities — emerging centers of diagnosis, under-penetrated geographies, referral pathways, and account-specific openings — where coordinated field action can unlock disproportionate business impact. Across both, the incumbent determines where the organization focuses, which insights matter, and how coordinated action is sequenced across every customer-facing role — accelerating share momentum and sustaining Pfizer's leadership in a market that is no longer uncontested.
The geographic scope of this role is national (United States). This position reports to the Vice President, Rare Cardiac Therapeutic Area Lead.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own national cross-functional field integration across all customer-facing colleagues — Serve as the single senior point of integration for every CFC role that touches the amyloid business — Sales, KAD, Access Care Managers, and Field Medical — to HQ, setting the national field strategy so each priority account experiences one coordinated Pfizer team from a shared, insight-led plan
- Set and own the Top 25 account strategy — Establish the planning framework for the Top 25 amyloid accounts with the greatest franchise impact; partner with senior commercial, access, and field leaders to define success criteria, identify structural growth constraints, and guide coordinated action at the system and institution level.
- Design and run the cross-functional operating rhythm — Establish the cadence, shared account view, governance forums, and quarterly business reviews across Marketing, CEP, Patient Solutions, and Medical. with clear success measures for coordinated account performance.
- Identify regional, area, and local opportunities that drive business impact — Surface opportunity beyond the top accounts — emerging centers of ATTR-CM diagnosis, under-penetrated geographies, referral pathways, and local account dynamics — translate them into prioritized, geography-specific plays, and mobilize the right customer-facing roles against them.
- Serve as the senior strategic integrator across functions — Integrate across Commercial, Field Medical, Access, TLELs (Thought Leader Engagement Leads), and Field Leadership; help resolve competing priorities —within cross-functional governance and the commercial, medical and patient solutions firewalls, respecting the independence of Field Medical & Patient Solutions.
- Define and elevate the HCP insight agenda — Advocate the field insight agenda for priority accounts; translate real-world insight from priority physicians and institutions into a clear point of view on where the organization should focus and how coordinated field action should adapt.
- Serve as the bridge between HQ strategy and field execution — Ensure national brand, access, and engagement strategy is executed coherently in-account, and ensure what the customer facing field team insights flows back to shape HQ strategy.
- Drive competitive response coordination in priority accounts — In partnership with the competitive lead, responsible for the coordinated, compliant, account-specific field response to ATTR-CM competitive dynamics as new entrants press on stabilization, outcomes, and access; synthesize and act on competitive learning quickly and within governance.
- Shape engagement strategy and partner to execute the field operating rhythm — Support national strategy for faculty selection, engagement models, and channel deployment in priority accounts, and run the cadence, shared account view, and decision forums through which Sales, KAD, ACM, and Field Medical align on account plans.
