About Mesh
At Mesh, our mission is to enable consumers to pay and be paid with any asset. Today, trillions of dollars in tokenized assets exist but remain largely unusable for everyday commerce. Mesh is bridging this gap by making crypto payments reliable, useful, and ubiquitous. We combine a powerful orchestration engine with a seamless consumer app to unlock liquidity for the world. Backed by leading investors like PayPal Ventures, Paradigm, and Galaxy Ventures, we are building the infrastructure for the next era of the global economy. Join us!
Overview
Mesh is seeking our first Head of Card Product.
Crypto solved receiving value. It has not solved spending it. Hundreds of millions of people hold crypto they cannot use to buy fuel or groceries. Every previous fix asked the merchant to change... new software, new assets, new risk... and merchants declined. The result is a vicious cycle: because crypto is not spendable, consumers do not hold much of it. Because consumers do not hold much of it, merchants do not accept it.
We are breaking the cycle from the other side. A user pays with crypto. The merchant receives an ordinary card payment. Nothing changes at the point of sale, so everything changes for the consumer: crypto becomes spendable at over a hundred million merchants in more than two hundred countries overnight... including the markets where people are already paid in stablecoins and have nowhere to spend them. It stops being an asset you hold and becomes money you use.
You will own this program end-to-end: the consumer experience, the bank partnership, the network relationship, and the compliance framework that makes it real. Card programs are not won with code. They are won by earning the confidence of banks and networks, which is why so few companies can build this. If you have spent your career learning how card programs really work, this is the seat where that knowledge changes what money can do.
What You'll Do
- Own the card program end to end. You are the single accountable owner of this product ... its launch, its growth, its economics. If it touches the program, it's yours.
- Earn the confidence of banks and networks. You will sit across from bank officers, network compliance teams, and regulators ... in every market the program touches ... and get to yes on KYC, fraud, refunds, and every edge case of how money moves. You write the specificity a bank signs. This is hands-on work, not delegated work.
- Make paying with crypto feel effortless. Provisioning a card into a wallet, confirming on device, recovering from a failed or disputed transaction. You decide what the user believes is happening and make every screen and state consistent with that belief.
- Win distribution through wallet partners. This product only matters if wallets carry it. You pitch it, shape each integration, and make partners successful ... their volume is the scoreboard.
- Decide what cards become at Mesh. Today it is one program. New programs, networks, geographies, and commercialization are yours to figure out ... and to argue for at the exec table with evidence.
Who You Are
- Experience: You have owned a regulated financial product that shipped through a bank partner or regulator ... a card program, a lending product, a banking or money movement product. Card program experience is a strong plus, not a requirement.
- Compliance Fluency: You have earned a compliance sign-off from a bank partner, network, or regulator ... KYC, AML, transaction monitoring, fraud, disputes. You can describe a decision a bank pushed back on and how you got to yes. Experience across multiple markets or regulatory regimes is a strong plus.
- Consumer Product Judgment: You have owned a consumer payments or fintech product and its outcome ... volume, activation, retention, or P&L. You can walk through a flow you shipped and the reasoning behind it.
- Mobile Payments: You have shipped device-level payment experiences ... secure element or secure enclave integration, push provisioning, token requestor work with the networks.
- AI Leverage: You use AI daily to draft program documentation, model economics, and automate the operational work of running a program.
- Crypto: Ideally, you have built products that integrate into crypto wallets like MetaMask, Trust Wallet, or Phantom.
The annual base salary range for this role is $229,000 - $300,000, plus equity, in San Francisco or New York. We have a strong preference for candidates based in San Francisco. In-Office Expectations
Employees based in our San Francisco, New York, and Bangalore hubs are expected to work from the office at least 40% of the time (approximately two days per week). This expectation may vary slightly depending on role, team, and business needs. Certain roles that require closer cross-functional collaboration or operational support may have additional in-office requirements, which will be discussed during the interview process. Our hybrid approach is designed to balance meaningful in-person collaboration, team building, and real-time decision-making with the flexibility to work remotely. We believe this structure supports strong execution while preserving autonomy and focus time.
