Job Description:
This job is responsible for supporting credit underwriting and monitoring for new and existing clients in partnership with a credit team. Key responsibilities include completing and reviewing credit analysis, evaluating risks, reviewing work by less experienced teammates, and writing financial analysis for approval or monitoring. Job expectations include leading the process, ensuring timely and accurate analysis, and coaching teammates on credit requirements.

This role supports Commercial Real Estate credit underwriting and portfolio monitoring for new and existing clients in partnership with the Credit Officers, Relationship Management, and Risk. Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing credit analyses, assessing risk, reviewing work completed by less experienced teammates, and drafting financial analyses for approval or ongoing monitoring. The role is expected to lead the underwriting process, deliver timely and accurate analyses, and coach teammates on credit requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the credit analysis process with the support of other analysts and associates
  • Partners with Credit Officers, Relationship Management, and Risk teammates to understand structuring needs and requirements
  • Monitors operating performance and financial condition, proactively identifying issues and opportunities
  • Assists in delivery of financial modeling, loan structure, industry, economic, and other analyses to team members to support the loan decision-making process
  • Reviews work of junior teammates to provide feedback/coaching and ensure compliance with laws, rules, regulations and policy procedure
  • Has credit approval for certain credit actions
  • Participates in loan structure conversations and completion of loan documentation with internal/external legal partners
  • Gathers, manages and reviews additional due diligence and third-party reports once deal is mandated
  • Prepares credit packages and circulates for approval
  • Responsible for Flood Process and regulatory data capture associated with deal closings
  • Completes renewals, material modifications and extensions (non-preapproved)
  • Completes Treasury-related requests, including card and ACH facilities for credit clients only 
  • Partners closely with the Credit Officer and Loan Administration team in loan closings

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ yrs experience as a credit underwriter within corporate or commercial banking

Desired Qualifications:

  • 3+ yrs experience as a Commercial Real Estate credit underwriter covering large private CRE enterprises, CRE private equity funds, or public REITs
  • Proficiency with Credit Center
